Blink & She's 5 Months Old, Has Two Teeth & a Certified Bow Head!

It has been awhile once again. Life is just passing us by. I couldn't tell you what we've been up to since the last post. Charley was baptized on February 23rd. The pictures are on the upstairs computer, so I will have to add those later today. February 23rd is also the day we noticed that she was "probably teething". It took her about 3 weeks to cut them, but she has her two bottom middle teeth, and they are razor sharp! She is working on about 4 others. Yes, 4!!!!!

She is growing like a weed and learning new things. She has learned to scream, it is awful and she thinks it is funny. She really enjoys practicing. She loves her dad. She has started exhibiting "stranger anxiety", which is normal according to the milestones chart. She won't let anyone hold her except mom & dad and the people she sees a lot, it takes her a minute warm up. She has really brushed up on the fake cry. It is so funny. She smiles at Jake. She babbles & coos. She is up at 5 am everyday, even on weekends. She can sit by herself for a few seconds, in a few weeks she should be able to hold herself up for awhile. We still don't like solid foods. She takes cereal in her bottle, but hates it from a spoon. We tried green beans, and she's just not ready. We suspect in a few weeks she'll be eating solids like a champ. We aren't worried, it is still early for solids. I have to remember that the ones who are doing this already are the exception, not the rule. She seems to be developing "by-the-book", only ahead on some things and "right on schedule" with everything else. She is doing fantastic and is such a joy. She's our little angel!

Carrie and Bruce came over a few weekends ago. We hadn't seen them together since Carrie's big 3-0 party! I see Carrie a lot,thankfully! Anyhow, they got to see in person how much Charlotte has changed. She is a spunky little thing! You can tell that they are going to be great parents one day....*tapping foot rather impatiently for a little friend or boyfriend for BC* hehe NO PRESSURE!!!

Our Valentine’s Day Masterpieces

I have lots of updates to do. I really slack on this blog thing, but between being a fulltime employee, a wife and mother, it is really hard to find the time. I thought I would be able to do it on my lunch hour, but that hour is the only hour a day I get to myself…and ½ the time, I work thru lunch! Once Baby Charlotte starts sleeping thru the night, I may have the energy to update as often as I’d like.
We spent Valentine’s evening at Wired and Fired in VaHi. We had the best time. We went there last year, before Valentine’s Day and had such a great time that when we found out they had a Valentine Special we signed up quickly. We kind of think of that place as good luck and will probably be making it an annual must do! You are allowed to bring in food and beverage, so we took a bottle of wine and stuffed olives and some dip and set out to paint something. I don’t think either one of us knew what we were going to do, but like all things these days, Charlotte was our inspiration. I bought her some “stuffed flowers” as part of her Valentine. The idea was to put them in the turquoise vase in her bedroom but they were too small and looked funny, so when I saw the heart shaped vase, I knew I was going to paint it for her. Here it is, it turned out great!








Matt, oh Matt. His Little Ladybug has him so wrapped around his finger. I am in awe of his painted creation and he makes me swoon. It is the cutest thing ever. I’ll explain, but here it is:




He had seen something in a movie or something, where a little girl lost her tooth. Her dad told her they needed to make a trail of Fairy Dust from the window to the bed so that the Tooth Fairy can find her. He is going to fill the little base with pink glitter and when the time comes, he and Baby C are going to create the trail. SO SWEET!

BC also received her 1st Valentines from all of her Grandparents. Grandmama got her her first "Babin' Soup", and THE CUTEST Ladybug float and Bambi. She is going to be so cute at the beach this summer!

Look at this float! I've never seen anything like it! I fear my obsession with ladybugs! There is just too much cute ladybug stuff out there! I hope it is something Baby C will continue, but I've probably set her up to hate them. They have just been a HUGE symbol of luck for me and when we found out she was a girl...well, the craziness began...

Lots more to come, I have to post pics of Aunt Carrie & Uncle Bruce's visit, her Baptism is this coming Sunday, so I will have to post those pictures, 4 month appointment is Monday, and some milestones hit since my last post. So much! So little time!

Valentine Baby!!

Congratulations to my dear friend Kelly and her fiance Matthew welcomed their first child together on Saturday, February 14th. Naomh May was born at 10:19pm and was 7lbs 9oz. She joins big sisters Madison & Sophia. I am still waiting for more pictures, but look at this precious pooh!

Smilin' at the Bedpost!

I really wish we had had our camera handy this morning! Every morning we listen to The Bert Show as we are getting ready for work. The alarm clock on the bedside table wakes us up to the local station every morning.

We sat Charlotte in her boppy chair on the floor outside the bathroom as we were getting ready this morning. We would take turns talking to her and playing peek-a-boo to keep her content. After about 45 minutes, she got bored, we think, so Daddy put her and her chair up on the bed. After a few minutes, I heard, "Are you smiling at the bedpost?" I came out of the bathroom to investigate, and sure enough, she was smiling at the bedpost. We watched for a few minutes and Jeff Dauler was talking and she would smile at the bedpost and the morning show would start laughing and she'd smile at the bedpost. LOL! It was the cutest thing ever. She thought the bedpost was talking to her! She would turn her head toward the sound of the radio and just smile at the bedpost. Good times!

Charley's 1st Christmas!

To say our little girl is spoiled, is an understatement. Between her dad and I, Grandmama, Mimi & Gramps and all her Aunts, she made out like a bandit!

She got her first American Girl Doll, a Bitty Baby, from her Grandmama. Age appropriate toys from her Mimi & Gramps, books, a ladybug backpack from Santa(how appropriate!)to name a few!
