Love & Hugs & Slobbery Kisses!

Since my last update, Charley has finally taken off and is full on crawling. She is everywhere and gets into everything! She popped her 3rd tooth, she now has 3 in a row on the bottom. She STILL won't say Mama, but it sounds like she says "Jake Jake" her "Brutta from anotha Mutta". I will ask her for love and hugs and she will press her cheek against mine or bury her head in my chest and give me a little squeeze, it is the BEST feeling. We will ask for a kiss and pucker our lips and she will give us big wet ones. She is amazing and every day is a treat and something new. She is attending her friend Layla's 1st Birthday Party next weekend. It will be her first party, so we are really looking forward to that.

9 Months Old!!!

We have our 9 Month Checkup on Friday, so I will post her stats, although she is thinning out some. My chunker is growing up and I am sad about it!

In the last week, she has become picky about food again. She will only eat oatmeal and bananas, everything else she spits out, and not in normal fashion, she has to do the "raspberry spray" spit, so not only does it get on me, but the kitchen walls. It is hard not to laugh and we try not to let her see us laughing, but we are trying to teach her that that is a no-no. She's like her father, she doesn't listen! lol just kidding.

We have been up on all fours rocking for about 3 weeks, still not crawling, she goes backward. Now she pushes up onto her feet, so her feet and hands are on the floor. Sunday, we tried holding her hands and she took steps. She is really enjoying walking assisted. She is not yet pulling herself up and I have only seen her sit up from a lying position once. She somewhat holds her own bottle, she can do it, but prefers to be waited on hand and foot.

My hunch is she can do all these things and probably does them at daycare, but she refuses to do any work at home. That is okay, I like to gradually let go! She is so sweet and good! She hardly makes a peep. She is giving spontaneous smiles and laughs all the time now, has learned to clap, she waves, I still can't get her to say my name. She is a Daddy's Girl, he is her preference and that is okay too.

This is a shot her dad sent me this morning, getting ready for school.

First Trip to the Zoo and Other Fun Stuff

We had a fun, action packed weekend. Sunday Charley and I went shopping with Grandmama, and I bought her more clothes that she really doesn't need, but who can resist cute girl clothes, especially when they are on sale? Monday, her dad and I took her to Zoo Atlanta. She enjoyed looking at people and plants, Matt and I just enjoyed walking around. After we left the zoo, we went to Oakland Cemetary. It is one of our favorite places to walk around and look at old graves and names. Sounds kind of morbid. lol. After we got home, the Princess Pea was acting wild and crazy, rolling around, screaming, laughing, trying her darndest to sit up on her own. She was very curious about the laptop and practically jumped in my lap to mash the keys. Here are some pictures of the day. Picture overload, but she is just the cutest baby on earth!

7 Months Old!!!!

It is unbelievable how time flies. Baby C is 7 months old! She is eating 3 meals of solids a day. She is learning sign language. She is rolling around, trying to stand and crawl and sit unassisted. She growls at us and anyone who is not paying her any attention. She is sleeping thru the night! Her hair is growing! She is ticklish. Her laughs are infectious. She CAN hold her own bottle, but she won't. She is such a Princess. She is such a good baby! We fall more in love with her every day, if that is possible!

I had a GREAT 1st Mother's Day. Charley gave me a ladybug charm for my bracelet and a silver 'Mommy Necklace', it has a charm with her name on it and a smaller bubble heart charm and mother of pearl charm. The wrong one was delivered, I should get the correct one today and will post a pic, it is precious. Daddy gave me a fabulous new watch.

Blink & She's 5 Months Old, Has Two Teeth & a Certified Bow Head!

It has been awhile once again. Life is just passing us by. I couldn't tell you what we've been up to since the last post. Charley was baptized on February 23rd. The pictures are on the upstairs computer, so I will have to add those later today. February 23rd is also the day we noticed that she was "probably teething". It took her about 3 weeks to cut them, but she has her two bottom middle teeth, and they are razor sharp! She is working on about 4 others. Yes, 4!!!!!

She is growing like a weed and learning new things. She has learned to scream, it is awful and she thinks it is funny. She really enjoys practicing. She loves her dad. She has started exhibiting "stranger anxiety", which is normal according to the milestones chart. She won't let anyone hold her except mom & dad and the people she sees a lot, it takes her a minute warm up. She has really brushed up on the fake cry. It is so funny. She smiles at Jake. She babbles & coos. She is up at 5 am everyday, even on weekends. She can sit by herself for a few seconds, in a few weeks she should be able to hold herself up for awhile. We still don't like solid foods. She takes cereal in her bottle, but hates it from a spoon. We tried green beans, and she's just not ready. We suspect in a few weeks she'll be eating solids like a champ. We aren't worried, it is still early for solids. I have to remember that the ones who are doing this already are the exception, not the rule. She seems to be developing "by-the-book", only ahead on some things and "right on schedule" with everything else. She is doing fantastic and is such a joy. She's our little angel!
